Today we welcome two new members into the Rotary Club of Stuart, FL. Eric Brent receives his Rotary Pin after being inducted by Past District Governor Jack Tartamella. And bottom: Liz Plasket awaits receiving her Rotary Pin from her sponsor Kris Loessin. After her induction as a new member of our club. Welcome Liz and Eric.
It was just last November that President Bush signed a bill making the Navy UDT & Seal Museum a national museum. Chuck Theiss, a former Navy Seal, told us a great deal about the Navy UDT & Seal National Museum. And then he told us some of the stories that came out of combat concerning the Seals. One Medal of Honor receipient carried a dead comrade several miles on a rescue mission and they are both alive today. There are three Seals who have received the Medal of Honor. We also learned that Seals went into Iraq a week before the military attacked and secured two important objectives to prevent the Iraqis from destroying them....and they did it without firing a shot.
